Plus there was no communication that if the house didn't pass as compliant, we would have to cover costs for a re-inspection.Īm I in the wrong? Happy to take responsibility if I am It wasn't my understanding that a flat battery constitutes a 'malfunction' or maintenance need. ![]() But I believe that if it was so important to the safety of the house, why didn't it get flagged by the agents in their own inspection, and include a report with suggestions of what needed to be tended to, or if we were in breach of something? Yes I could have prioritised installing the new battery, but they're saying it was malfunctioned and that I didn't report it, and now want me to fork the $100 for the re-inspection. ![]() I informed the agents that the assessment was mistaken, that there was zero damage, it's an easily removable cover to change the battery.īut the Agents are saying I need to pay the $100 for them to come back out and do a re-inspection for the smoke alarm, saying I am at fault. Because of this they couldn't tick off the house as compliant with the safety check until it was 'repaired' and inspected again. Now they flagged the smoke alarm, but made a large oversight in incorrectly saying it was damaged (they thought I'd disconnected a hardwired smoke alarm and removed the wiring.when all I did was change the flat reserve 9V battery). Then we had another routine safety audit for gas and electricity only a week or two ago. In that inspection the rental agent missed the fact that my smoke alarm didn't have its cover on, as the battery was flat and I hadn't got round to putting it in yet. We had a routine inspection approximately 4 weeks ago. "the coal thumper is there if need steam cores more than manpower, and the coal mine is there for if you need more manpower than steam cores.I'm renting in Victoria. But, again, you need a lot of people to manage that (two full gathering posts for 100% efficiency! Not counting the actual thumper!)Īll of that information rolls back to the simple statement I made at the beginning. Once you research the stage-2 coal thumper, it actually produces much more than the last-stage coal mine. After the first stage of coal mine, the other two stages produce more coal than the stage-1 coal thumper. The coal thumper would need to have 100% efficiency to get that small amount more though, and that would need a lot of people. At first, the coal mine is actually less efficient in terms of how much coal it mines per day (if barely so) in comparison to the coal thumper. I must say that this benefit, even though what I said is a fair amount, is fairly insignificant (unless you have a major problem with any of these factors) most of the time.Ī benefit for the coal mine other than needing less people is the amount of coal it can produce. ![]() However for the coal thumper, you can place it near already-existing heating towers, and as such don't need to worry about workers needing to go through the cold or creating another heating tower. Coal deposits might be extremely far from the center of whatever crater you're located within, and as such you may have difficulty with sending people out there with both the journey there being a risk and you needing to add more heating equipment at the new location making the structure a little less useful. It may take up more room (considering most people place gathering posts), however for workers the conditions are much better depending on where you place it. Other than this, a benefit of the coal thumper is that you can place it anywhere. As far as I know the coal thumper is there if need steam cores more than manpower, and the coal mine is there for if you need more manpower than steam cores.
